I am an art education major, and will be student teaching in the fall. I absolutely LOVE school and I hope I enjoy teaching just as much.

I work in the payroll department for a large company…fun fun. But I do photography on the side. Cool No schooling in anything artsy.

I am developing a portfolio for Graduate School, which I would like to attend abroad.  I do fine art photography, old school style.  Eventually I might apply for teaching jobs at Universities.  I also have backup plans- I could do wedding photography, graphic design, or jewelry making (I am a trained Goldsmith and Darling Husband is certified and has a degree in it.)  I got my degree in literature, but it all relates.

I am a server, but I’m also a part of a creative team for a photographer, building props and accessories for photoshoots (Mostly children portraits), we also create custom frames. And I’m starting my own business designing different accessories for women’s and children’s events.

I haven’t gone to school for any of this. it comes naturally and I would hate for someone to tell me how it ‘should’ be done rather than the way I ‘feel’ it.

@Tswife4ever: I am basically just cutting & pasting this from the other career thread, since it applies to both :)…

I’m an associate editor at a theatre magazine. I started out as an assistant editor this past July but got lucky in that the editor-in-chief of the magazine hired me and then left shortly after training me. The then-associate editor was promoted, as was I. It’s kind of perfect, since I was a theatre and an english major in college. Though I love writing and arts journalism, I think that ultimately I would like to give theatre directing a full-time go; I do it on the side right now (in the evenings) and it’s my passion. I’m the artistic director of a company I recently founded with my friends, and just think that in the long run, office life is probably not for me. Plus, I’m young enough to work long hours for little pay :). My job is amazing, though, since 33 hours a week is considered full time w/benefits. The pay isn’t great and I live in a very expensive city, but can’t really complain since I’ve never been one to chase high-paying work at the expense of my happiness.
