Our date is coming upon is in about 6 weeks – eep! We still haven’t decided on how we want to go about the processional. One thing I know for sure is that it probably won’t be fully traditional. For a few reasons (mentioned in other posts) I’ve decided that I won’t be having my father (or my mother) walk me down the aisle.
One suggestion that we had is apparently a Swedish custom, where the bride and groom walk in together, holding hands, signifying that they are coming into the partnership as equals. We kinda liked that one.
I’m also interested in other ideas for the general processional of the wedding party and/or family. I was thinking we could do a family processional, beginning with our grandmas (we only have two), followed by FI’s and my own parents (linking arms or separate, whatever), followed by the groomsmen, followed by the bridesmaids, then finally Fi and I. I realize it sounds a little long, but our venue is fairly small (so the walk will be like 20 steps!) and our ceremony is going to be pretty short. We also wanted to acknowledge our family members somehow so I thought that could work.
Any other suggestions? Really open to anything and everything!
