Our wedding is a looong way off at this point (Oct. 2015), but we have decided we want to do a brunch reception with all kinds of brunch foods, including some kind of station—either a crepe station, a waffle station, or a pancake station—where guests can pile up all their favorite toppings. Fiance and I were jokingly arguing over which station would be best, and I’m curious, if you were a guest, which would you prefer?
(FYI, I would totally choose crepes!)

I voted crepes… they just sound fancier for some reason lol

All 3?! Lol yum.
Maybe crepes.. they’re fancier and not your everyday thing.

Mmmm crepes. But I’d eat all 3, let’s be honest.

I picked the pancakes just because… Yum. I attended a wedding with a crepe station and while delicious and excellently prepared, the line was a killer. It became known as “the wedding where we waited” (the buffet line was also very long and slow.) There was only one crepe chef working two orders simultaneously… And way too many guests who wanted them. Not to scare you from your choice, but just something to keep in mind if you’re expecting a big crowd! Plan on the station being very popular 🙂

Crepes, because they can be savory or sweet! A PP had a good point about how long they take, though. Make sure to have several people making them at once!

@gromble: The only reason I’d steer clear of waffles is that they make me think of those crummy breakfasts at cheap hotels with the plastic cup full of waffle batter and the flipping waffle machine with the awful timer that sounds like a fire alarm when it goes off and ok, I swear I don’t live at the Super8. The other two sound awesome 🙂

@kestane: Good to know!!! We plan to have a small wedding with 40-50 guests, but I could still imagine a line could build up. We’ll have to make sure we have more than one person servicing the station for sure.

I love pancakes and waffles more than crepes but voted for crepes because they keep better when they’ve been sitting for a while in hot plates. Waffles keep okay too but they tend to get soft… Pancakes tend to de-fluff and get harder/dryer. Also, you love crepes, which matters too! Plus crepes seem more upscale. 🙂

Crepes because they’re more versitile and can accomodate more taste preferences. Plus, I love crepes.

Yummm definitely crepes! They’re light, soo tasty, and a lot easier to eat.

CREPES!…really really thin pancakes! 🙂
Waffles I think can be so filling (same as pancakes) …crepes are just light and you can add anything you want. They don’t take that long really. If you have two people making them at once, you should be golden

I voted waffles because, while I like all three, I almost never have waffles, whereas I have crepes and pancakes reasonably frequently because they’re easy to make at home. Waffles sound fun! But I’d be happy with any of them 🙂
