What solutions are there?  I don’t know what’s going on, but I always find that the best way to feel better is to lay out all the solutions that are possible, and figure out how to obtain one of them.

Can you just share what’s going on?  I can’t find it in your many other posts!  It will make it easier…and maybe give you a better handle on the situation.

It would be helpful if you shared just a bit of the story so we can try to help!

((HUGS!!))  When I cry all night I can’t even open my eyes in the morning because of the puffy red eyelids.  I’ve been known to call in sick after a night like that because of looking so bad.  At least you’re trying to work, lol.  Can you go home sick just to get some rest?

As far as the Future Mother-In-Law issues, I agree with everyone, need more details to be able to help with that.

@sugarcube:  I never feel great after crying, I feel like I have the flu, lol.  Sometimes I’ve felt like I was allergic to my own tears from looking so bad the next morning.

The chemical makeup of tears is different when you cry for different reasons, it’s a scientific fact.  So “ugly cry” tears, like when you’re angry, hurt and emotionally upset will tend to make your eyes and face more puffy because of their chemicals.  Some tears are actually cleansing, make you feel better and don’t puff your eyes up as much, like happy tears, for example.  Weird, but true.

@Sunfire:  That is really interesting and makes SO MUCH SENSE.  Like when I cried over that one episode of Doctor Who, I was fine the next morning.  But when my fiance and I had a fight (years ago) over…a toilet seat (I kid you NOT), I was a wreck.

@sugarcube:  last night, the (same old) Mother-In-Law drama came up about the same old crap – the holidays.

It seems like the holidays “belongs” to the Future Mother-In-Law…

I honestly have a solution for you… Do yourself a favor and start a new tradition with your husband to be. There are 3 major hoidays, so don’t know which you are mostly attached to. But at least Christmas is the only MAJOR one in North America anyways… I would go one year to his parents and the next year go to your parents. Such as odd year at your parents and even years at your Future Mother-In-Law. Something like that? Would that be something you are willing to consider?

Get to the bathroom and put a cold paper towel on the back of your neck. It calms you down and kind of gets rid of the “crying face”. Now, I am really sorry about how the upcoming holidays (I have a feeling that this site is going to be the place where we can vent over the holidays). I don’t know the problems you are having with your Mother-In-Law so without much detail, the only thing I can say is try to stay calm. The more flustered you get, the more things seem to get a little worse..you know what I am saying? It will be ok!
