@elderbee- your post made me laugh out loud, those Christmas letters are so smug. lol when I think of Christmas letters I think of Marge trying to put a positive spin on hers 🙂

This isn’t even a humble brag, but this girl just posted a photo of her credit report that had her 820 credit score on it and posted how proud she was of herself for having such good credit. Like really????

I have a friend who likes to bring up what a struggle it is for her that she’s never hungry and always forgets to eat. She always brings it up after asking how my diet is going or if we go out to eat and I eat all my meal and she takes two bites. Not trying to skinny shame her or anything, but it always makes me feel like a big fat f–k when she brings it up. And yes, I’m totally jealous- I’m always hungry!! Lol

haha I saw that and came to mention it too.
ETA: though as another bee said it is better to say it to the bee directly.

Alternatively that was “my husband made a poor financial decision after asking for and immediately ignoring my repeated feedback” Yeah… I’m so jealous. I don’t think this one belongs here, though it can certainly be spun.
Tried to find something on my fb feed but honestly all I see are real brags (like a relative who posted her manicure with giant ring) or reposts… FB is so much more boring than it used to be.

Is this the equivalent to snarking someone behind their back? It would polite to the OP to say this in her thread instead of sneaking over to another.

as PPs have said, that’s a legitimate complaint. Just because you are envious it doesn’t make the complaint any less real. I don’t have any paid job, part-time or otherwise (well no shifts until tax season), but I don’t call your complaint a humble brag. It’s an understandable complaint, the job market sucks! Your friend complaining about being tired from her work is just as understandable.
I do occasionally see the ‘I need to lose weight’ posts and the person may only be just above normal. I may think I wish I was that again, but that’s my own insecurities.
Sometimes I see people posting things they’ve baked and saying they didn’t turn out right, but they look perfect! I’m sure that’s what they’re after sometimes, compliments. Most of my circle is pretty good though.

I’m about to marry into a family who does letters like this. Like long-winded updates of everyone in the family. But only the super positive stuff. I fucking hate it. It seems so fake to me. My family is more warts and all but we have much stronger bonds cos of it.
We’re moving to a new city soon. I win =P

I said it to her and behind her back LOL

I’m with you on the whole “busy” thing. When people complain to me about how “busy” they are I really like to say, “wow, that’s funny because I’m not busy at all. Why don’t you just do less?”
No one knows what to say.

Bahaha that’s awesome, I’m stealing this.

To each their own and you are entitled to your opinion. But bouncing onto other threads to diss another is not really how this site works and is against the ToS you agreed to. There are other site though that is attitude would be very welcomed.
