janvier :  I just want to be like “NO ONE GIVES A SHIT”

But it’s DHs friend so I won’t. But my friends know I will so call them out.

emmabird :

A classmate of mine in school once said: “You’re so lucky you don’t have big boobs. Every time I go out, guys just stare at my boobs and buy me drinks. It’s so annoying. They never want to get to know me.”

Well yeah, maybe because your personality SUCKS!

ana2017 : Lol. Or the constant vacationers that post always then complain their tired. Omg dude, why? You’ve had like four vacations. I’m just jealous and I know it.

jannigirl :  I would agree it is legitimate! People are allowed to be tired from working, it isn’t bragging.

My college roommate used to cry on a regular basis, multiple times a week, about how lonely she was because she suffered from “Model Syndrome” (her term). She would say things like: “Guys don’t ask me out because I’m so beautiful they just assume I’m dating someone. It’s like being a supermodel. They don’t even try!” Boo hoo hoo, princess. It never occurred to her that she could, y’know, ask them out herself or at least make it clear she was on the market.

jannigirl :  yeah.. you can be tired from a full time office job… but at least you have one. You know how many people would love to be tired from a full time office job instead of being tired from looking for one?

ana2017 :  You don’t seem to get what humble-bragging really is.

Complaining about being too pretty, having too much money, going on so many vacations, having too big a diamond – those are humble-bragging because the complaint is completely bullshit. It’s an illegitimate, artificial complaint, only trotted out for the excuse to talk about how pretty/rich/thin you are.

People don’t complain about being exhausted from working three jobs just to brag about having 3 jobs. FFS. They complain because having three jobs is legitimately fucking exhausting. And while they are probably grateful that they have the jobs, they are probably frustrated that they need to work three jobs to get by. Nobody works three jobs for giggles. They do it because they have to, and they’re almost certainly miserable doing it.

I get that you’re pissed that you don’t have the job you want, but that doesn’t make people complaining about being exhausted by their job(s) ‘humble-bragging’.

When people check in on Facebook to private lounges at airports and are like “ugh! I hate jet lag!” or something to that effect.  xo
