(Closed) Crinoline instead of alterations?

I can’t say anything for the Davids Bridal crinoline.

But my lace dress was about 2 to 3″ too long even with 2½” heels, but it was suggested we not hem it, and use a crinoline instead to “increase the slope” as my little sister with the PhD in mathematics said it.

I tried on a very poufy crinoline in the bridal store, but it was very hot & uncomfortable. So we sewed a hoop into my dress, over which the build-in crinoline and the layers of my dress sit.  It’s perfect: lifts the dress off the floor and gives great volume, but is also light and easy to move in.

I hope that helps?

Exactly. I would say choosing between hoop or crinoline is of personal opinion, but that any kind of petticoat that adds volume can definitely prevent the need for your dress to be hemmed.
