Okay, so my dress is a little long. But it’s lace and has a scalloped edge hem, I can only imagine is expensive to fix. I’m thinking of trying a crinoline. They didn’t have any in my bridal salon that fit me and I don’t want to order one if it’s not right. I was thinking of getting one from ebay. Here’s the hem:
Nevermind my belly, it’s not completely laced up. What type of crinoline should I get?
An A-line #3 – seems a little bulky or maybe a mermaid/fishtail #9 – just for a little lift at the bottom?

@bluebelle23: I think that would work perfectly! Or, you could do what I am doing and just going a bit taller on my shoes!

PS- I bought TWO crinolines from them (#2 and #6), and they are both AMAZING!

You probably want an A line style if you go with the crinoline option. It might work better though if you talked to a seamstress about sewing in a few layers of crinoline instead of buying a separate one. You’d still get the “lift” to shorten the dress, but you could customize how much “poof” you are adding to the dress. Most seamstresses are happy to give an estimate, so it never hurts to call and ask about how much it would be.

I’ve decided to wait until Friday, to let the seamstress have an opinion. I made some tough decisions today to make a little room in the budget in case alterations go over. :/
Thanks @BrandNewBride: glad to know that they’re good quality! Super good deal!

@LDMTNBRIDE: It might not look like it, but under the dress, I’m maxed out on heels!!! LOL
