Sooo… When I went and purchases my dress… they gave me a crinoline for a fit and flare dress. (Yes there was one in my line up… I think this was their way of making things easier… ANYHOW… I am looking to buy a crinoline or hoopskirt.. but unsure which would look best for my dress! Thoughts? I will post the image from the model, and two from people trying it on int he salons (which I guarantee had a crinoline on, not sure why style though.) I will also post one of myself in it, with the fit and flair crinoline. Hower the dress is longer than me… so it poofed some from just being on the ground.. Let me know if you think a hoop skirt might work, or what type of crinoline to get!
This is the model shot.

I have a fit and flare dress, and I’ll be having a hoop added instead of wearing a crinoline. David’s Bridal tried to sell me a $75 crinoline, and it added a lot of weight and heat (on my legs) to the dress.
I asked my seamstress about it (no way in hell am I having alterations done by DB), and she suggested adding a hoop.
After some research it sounds like a better option IMO. Hoops keep the material away from your legs, aren’t heavy, and generally cost less. Plus there are so many sizes of hoops to choose from, and you can add more than one to get your perfect dress shape.

Hoop….like PLEASE said, crinoline is hot hot hotttt! It will make you sweat no matter what. Hoops are just easier & they separate your dress from you & give you breathing room! I HAD to have a hoop skirt…there’s no way I would have made it through the day without it. Also, the fit n flare style doesn’t seem to do much to the dress. That dress is either a larger a-line or even a ball gown. I suggest something a little poofier for underneath. Ebay or Amazon.com will be the place for you to purchase one from once you’ve figured out which style you want. They are extremely over priced at bridal shops.
