@UpstateCait: I think they are perfectly in order. I’m not planning on tipping anyone unless someone absolutely wows me. (I am making a $200 donation to my officiant’s church because he literally saved our wedding) It’s a wedding so I am already overpaying for everything already. I think you are quite generous and I am sure your vendors will appreciate the extra thank you.

I think those are all absolutely reasonable. I think 30% is WAY too high, Even 20% for a service that costs a grand is insane, sorry but I’m not made of money.

I wish we lived in a part of the world where tipping is not expected! I will gladly tip waiters and bartenders but to tip the DJ? Also the venue coordinator, isn’t she employed by the venue and therefore on salary? If so, then flowers are absolutely 100% fine. 

My friend is a make up artist and I know that she doesn’t really expect tips because her fee is set so that it covers her expenses when she works weddings and other events.

I don’t think you’re cheap at all! And also… I don’t believe it is appropriate or necessary to tip someone who owns the company (like the DJ or hairstylist.)
