Our wedding is going to be oceanside in a mansion in New England. Not a beach wedding, just oceanside as there is a lawn, not sand. We expect around 125 people, and we really want to do stations, not plated. Also I should mention that I’m a vegetarian (so no meat, fish/seafood, gelatin, etc.). Fiance is not a vegetarian.
We are still in the decision making process of the menu, so suggestions are helpful! I condensed the verbage a bit to help keep it more simple for reading. Text between asteriks are my opinions/questions:
When guests arrive prior to ceremony:
-Chilled sweet iced tea, Lemonade, and cucumber infused iced water
-Honey-roasted peanuts and pretzel snacks *I’m thinking of eliminating the snacks all together, I don’t think I like the idea of peanuts and pretzels.*
-“Gathering Table” with fruits, variety of cheeses, grilled peaches, veggies with various dips, breads, hummus, and bruschetta.
-NE Chower/Fritter Station with NE clam shower and clam fritters
Passed Hors D’Oeuvres *we get to select 6 total, and can add different ones. Anyone have any suggestions on delicious passed appetizers not listed? Which ones would you def choose or def eliminate?*
-Goat cheese tart with roasted onion/olive compote
-Spinach and feta stuffed mushrooms
-Crab cake with bayou sauce
-Coconut fried shrimp with ginger sauce
-Tuna tartar trio with avacado, mango, cucumber *thinking I’ll eliminate this one*
-BBQ pulled pork on corn cake with smoked cheddar
-Jack Daniels chicken skewer *this one and the one above it seem way too similiar, so one would prob be eliminated*
-Teriyaki-ginger meatballs with grilled pineapple *don’t know how I feel about meatballs*
-Cheddar chive stuffed baby red baked potatoes
-Pasta Station with two pasta choices (prob cheese tortellini and rigatoni) and you can add chicken, shirmp, spinach, onions/peppers, roasted garlic, olives, artichoke heats, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms. The sauces will be marinara, sausage/beef bolognese, some white sauce (prob alfredo), and just oil. Served with salad.
-Carving Station, we get to choose one of these. Prime Rib of beef with horseradish and pan Au Jus, Top round of beef with horseradish sauce, or beef flank steak with 3 BBQ sauces. *leaning towards flank steak. Don’t know about the BBQ sauces. What do you think?*
-“Summer Grill Station” that has balsalmic grilled chicken breast with variest of salsas, rosemary-garlic potato medley, large variety of roasted veggies, caprese salad
There’d be breads like rolls and biscuits at people’s tables as well.

Coffees and teas and such
There’s also a late night snack, thinking something like french fries maybe? *any ideas??*
