I’m a knitter. Crochet still mystifies me…one of these days I’ll sit down and figure out just how it’s done, but I do love my knitting needles. I’ve been working my way up to more complex patterns, and I’m going to try and make my first sweater this winter.

I am also a huge crocheter! I’m working on a baby blanket now and when that’s done I’m gonna try my hand at the skull potholders from my Stitch’n’Bitch Happy Hooker book (I love the title!) I’ve also made my own pattern for an amazing skull and cross bones scarf for another friend.

I crochet and left handed at that! My mom taught me.  I have been working on a king size blanket on and off for the last 5 years or so. It only comes out during the winter time.  I was making a baby blanket for our son but he came 7 weeks early so haven’t had time to work on it.

Now knitting confuses the heck out of me. I took couple of classes on how to knit and still haven’t finished it and that was a year ago.

I do neither but have always wanted to.

My friend crochets and made us the best blanket ever for a wedding gift.

However, from the little I have learned and seen of it, knitting seems more versatile, or at least closer to my aesthetic.

EDIT: P.S. I thought you actually were crocheting covers for rocks. haha. Because in this area people have “night crochets” where the come and crochet covers for bike racks. Seriously.

I’ve tried to learn crocheting probably five times now, and I can’t figure it out. 🙁 I’ll stick to cross-stitch, I guess.

I crochet, I have tried knitting but it’s just not for me. I just finished crocheting a baby blanket for my Maid/Matron of Honor, I’m working on completed a king size blanket for our bed and I’ve done more baby blankets, booties and hats. I never buy my winter hats, scarfs and mitts, I crochet them for myself and every one else. This is the only picture I have for now, I can’t find the other ones.

I just started crocheting a few weeks ago and I LOVE it! I learned to knit a long time ago but I never really got into it. I’m making Christmas gifts for my family this year and one of the things I wanted to do was knit everyone a set of dishcloths. You know the ones – everyone knows someone that knits them. Anyway, WalMart had a free pattern for a SNOWFLAKE (!!!) dishcloth and it looked amazing – but it was a crochet pattern! So I bought a beginner’s guide book for $7 and between that and YouTube I’m on my 6th dishcloth. Check it out, they are made with sparkley yarn!
