Blueeyedgirl212121: Just taught myself how to crochet this past weekend. What started out as a scarf has kind of turned into a cape because I didn’t realize you had to add stiches at the end of the row. I’m sure the dog will love it

Blueeyedgirl212121: Yeah my issue is I am left handed, so everything on tutorial is backwardsfor me. I even took a class to learn how to knitt, yeah didn’t work so much. That is why I love loom knitting

Love crocheting! Decided to learn it a few years back when I had a ton of flight hours ahead of me and needed to keep my hands busy (helps with my fear of flying). I downloaded a bunch of tutorials, got some basic supplies and have pretty much not stopped crocheting since then. 🙂 Right now I’m making a bunch of stuff for our little baby that’s due by the end of the month. Just finished this little guy:

Would love to pick up knitting in the future – it would open up so many doors in terms of potential projects.

I can only crochet in one direction. I’ve been shown how how to turn around dozens of times, but I just can’t seem to get it. So, I know one stitch, and can only go one way. I end up with a monstrously huge heavy circle blanket. I wish I could do cool stuff, but I’m stuck.

Blueeyedgirl212121: I love to crochet and knit. I am currently working on a granny square chunky knit blanket for my mum’s christmas present, and also knitting a ‘brights’ stripe blanket for my LO due in May. It’s nice to vary between the two projects, because it gives my arms/fingers a break from one repetitive movement

eocenia: you made this? It is so pretty – would you mind sharing the tutorial?

I used to crochet a lot when I was in my early 20s and had a lot on my mind, it was only basic scarves and granny squares but I found it really relaxed me. I’m a real worrier so I’ve always found it soothing to concentrate on something crafty so my mind doesn’t wander!

Recently I read an article about someone being “saved” by crochet as they’re an anxious person, and I realised how I’d completely forgotten the relief it used to give me from my worrying. So I got my wool and crochet hook out of the drawer straight away, found a YouTube tutorial and started up again. I love it! I worry a lot at night so sometimes I like to bring it to bed with me and crochet until I fall asleep. I find it works a lot better than cammomile tea!

Blueeyedgirl212121: I DO!!!!!!!!!!! OMg this is so exciting! I am not an expert and can only crochet scarfs and baby blankets. My MIL taught me.

I would love to make baby booties and hats, but I am someone who needs to see it in person. I have tried learning on youtube but I can’t get it. I need someone to yell at me and show me what I am doing wrong Lol

I get funny looks on the train because they see a 30 year old crocheting, I hate how only old people can crochet. A few times people have told me “you are the youngest person I’ve seen doing that” and sometimes I will get people saying “thats so pretty!” lol
