One of my coworkers swears by Crossfit. I haven’t done Crossfit, but I’ve done other fitness bootcamps before, which are similar, and I love them! I think interval training is the way to go. I’ve definitely noticed a change in my body since I’ve been doing interval training. It’s just so expensive!

I haven’t tried it and am in between want to try and don’t want to try.  Actually what scares me off is that a lot of people pair it with trying to eating more paleo-friendly/low carb and I have a history of obsessive/disordered eating (and my body does not like when I think it’s a good idea to limit carbs).  But I’m also a little worried about how obsessive it tends to be… on one hand I’m creeped out by the idea of people wanting to go so hard they puke and on the other hand I know I have a bad habit of trying to overdo things.

I could probably be dragged there if someone I knew harassed me enough, but I kind of feel like I’m happy now, improving with the routine I’m on, so why risk it.

I started crossfit in January- and I have become completely OBSESSED! My workout routine involved the elliptical and the occasional spin or pilates class…and I didn’t realize just how out of shape I was!

This is not for everybody. I played lacrosse growing up, and I love team sports…so the “team” aspect of crossfit is definitely appealing to me. Since the gym is small- and you do the workouts in groups you become much more accountable to coming regularly. (I didn’t go for three days and the owner CALLED me to see where I was!)

I can see noticable changes in my strength, and I love the fact that I don’t have to be at the gym for more then an hour to feel like I get an INCREDIBLE workout. There is a lot of heavy weight activities, but also good body weight movements like pull ups, push ups, squats, burpees, etc.

I don’t however follow the paleo/caveman diet. It’s too restrictive, and I don’t function well when I am not “allowed” to eat something. So- I’ve limited my calories/sugar and upped my protein and veggies to make sure I am supporting my weight loss goals.

If you want to see some serious changes in your physique and overall fitness- try it!
