I would love to hear your success stories and see your before and after pics!!
The husband and I are thinking about signing up for a CF Gym, feeling motivated!!
The gym we are looking into is $125 a month per person. Does that sound reasonable?

That is sooooo expensive!!! Well it’s comparable for a cross fit gym, but you can do all the “cross fit” workouts at a normal gym. You tube is a wonderful tool. You can look up cross fit workouts and do them at home or at a normal gym. Something to consider.

Is that for unlimited sessions for a month? I pay about 100$ a month for 8 sessions at my cross fit like gym. So $125 sounds about right.
My gym isn’t a full on cross fit, but it is very similiar. I love it. I have been doing it since August and I definitely feel better. Not sure if I even look any different. I am looking to just tone up and not really lose weight. Darling Husband has definitely noticed more muscle definition all around though.
I agree with PP that you can do all the work outs on your own at home. HOWEVER, I tried this for about a week when I wanted to quit my gym to save money and I just couldn’t do it. I am not self motivated enough to make myself give 110% on my own. Having others around me motivates me. I am very competitive so if I see my buddy next to me still going strong I will keep on going. But if it is just me at home I have no one pushing me.

@ReyDar64: I pay $90/month for crossfit. You will most definitely see results if you stick with it! I don’t have before/after pics, as I’ve always been pretty active, but I’ve seen others who attend lose A LOT of weight! It is really addictive and since it’s different everyday, you don’t get sick of it. I agree with the PP, I wouldn’t be motivated enough to do this at home.

Crossfit is expensive. Fiance and I have been doing it for 2 months and I love it!! Before doing crossfit we were training for a marathon but I got injured and had to take a break from running. Since starting crossfit I have lost 1 size, I have only lost 5 lbs but my body is getting really toned. The workouts are all awesome and even though they sound hard they can all be modified.
The gym we go to now is a fairly new gym so their prices are pretty cheap. We will be moving in the summer and all the boxes we have found are priced similarly to yours. If you can afford it, it is definitely worth it.
You can do some of the works outs at a regular gym but they don’t have the same equipement; crossfit gyms use bumper plates so that the weight can be dropped, you can’t drop regular plates. It’s also really beneficial to work with crossfit trainers so that you can learn proper technique and form. Being in the gym with other people doing the same work out makes working out a lot more fun. I love going to crossfit, I have never loved going to the gym before.

@ReyDar64: pricewise, that sounds pretty in line with what I’ve seen at other boxes. mine is approximately $95 a month for unlimited classes, cheaper if you only want 3 per week or if you go in the “cheap zone”. you can do some of the WODs at home or in a regular gym but I think if you’re new to lifting then it wouldn’t necessarily be a good idea to go it on your own since it’s really easy to injure yourself if you’re not doing things properly. make sure that your box has some sort of on ramp program for beginners so that you get a thorough introduction to the basics before you go into the regular WODs.
as far as results go, I was in fairly good shape before but I’ve lost about 3 cm each from my waist and hips and am starting to see definition in my stomach that I never had before. I’ve only been doing crossfit since oct/nov last year so I’m quite pleased with the results that I’ve seen so far. 🙂

@ReyDar64: I did it for 3 years! When I did paleo or zone diet, I went down a pant size really. I was already fairy fit I thought, just a few bulges. I didn’t get crazy ripped though – I went 3 days a week really. I would say it was the strongest I’d ever been.
I just quit after 3 years. I do so many outdoor activities, I felt CF was cutting into that time. I want to take off a year and just get back to really doing things outside again. Outdoor stuff = more fun to me.
The people that don’t do any other activities/hobbies/sports, just CF, make me a little sad. Why? They would be so awesome at any sport with those awesome bodies rather than couped up in that box day to day!
Ours was $70/month.

If you start it please post about it cause I’m considering it too!

@yellowshoe: Yes it is $125 a month for unlimited classes.
I have tried doing work outs at home but I tend to get very lazy and want to quit if I’m on my own. Although I am very comptitive, so I think CF might help 🙂

@ReyDar64: 125 is reasonable then! And it sounds like CF will be a great fit for you 🙂
