My fiancee and I are having a cruise wedding next year and have invited our entire families to cruise with us. Our ceremony is taking place at the embarkation port, so non-sailing guests are welcome to come aboard. My family members keep asking my parents, “Isn’t it strange that we’re going on their honeymoon?” Fiance and I don’t see it as that since we live far away from both our families and this is a time to celebrate with both of families in the same place. Has anyone else had this problem?

We are having friends go on our honeymoon with us and we are going on a cruise. Some people love the idea some people are shocked. I just don’t listen to them! I think it’s an amazing idea myself what you are doing.
I’m sorry I am not going to be “shacking up” the whole time on my honeymoon. Why spend all that money if your going to be in the room the whole time. I think it’s a great idea!

I am also a Carnival Cruise Bride, but I am getting married at one of the ports the ships stops at (St. Thomas). We love our family & friends and think having a week long celebration with everyone is going to be awesome. We also decided we want some alone time after the trip, so we planned a honeymoon after the cruise for just the two us. I dont think there is anything wrong if you decide not to do a seperate honeymoon though. There are tons of ways to have your own privacy on the ship and I am sure your family will understand that you guys would like some after the wedding. Maybe have some alone time in your room, go to the spa, go to the one of the specialty restaurants, do some things on your own at the ports, there are tons of opportunities! 🙂

We’re looking at doing a second cruise at some other point. Carnival is going to start cruising out of Boston next summer and NYC and Baltimore are between 4-8 hours away so we have our choice of cruise iteneraries.
