Our honeymoon was a 7 day on the Caribbean Princess cruise that left from Puerto Rico and a couple on board got married in St. Lucia.

Fi and I love cruising and that was our first thought when we got engaged. We wanted to send our immediate family and get married on a cruise ship!

Couple points:

If you thought this way would be cheaper. It’s not. Especially if you were planning on paying for immediate family to cruise.

There are a couple options. One of which is to get married at dock on the ship before the ship leaves the dock. With this option you can have guests who are NOT cruising join the ceremony.

The other is to get married on an island. I am not sure with this way if you can go back on the ship for dinner. I worried about this because so many things can happen and the ship may have to choose to skip the island (weather/safety) for the safety of all the travelers. What happens then with your wedding?

If you are truly thinking May then that is a decent time because cruise rates are generally cheaper and it’s not hurricane season yet.

I know Carnival had a separate division just for weddings and they emailed us brochures with pricing and all that. I’m sure all other cruise lines probably do as well?
