I’m getting married at the Cruiseport in November. I’m wondering if anyone else is booked here, or has been to a wedding here? I know that they’re a fairly new venue, so I’d like some reviews if possible…

My Fiance and I checked out Cruiseport this past Saturday for our wedding next October. While we thought it was gorgeous, we’re not really ocean people, so it wasn’t very “us.”
I was also a little surprised at the women working there (Pam and Tammie), as they seemed more intent on bashing the other places we’d seen than explaining the benefits of Cruiseport and their packages. We were pretty turned off, but it might just have been a random bad day.
The one thing I was really surprised about is that they said there was only 1 event per day on the site, but when we were there, there was a Bar Mitzvah downstairs while they were setting up for that evening’s wedding upstairs. I asked about it, and Tammie said they cleared it with the bride before allowing the other event. Fair enough, but it was a big red flag for me– if they open the door to that opportunity now, who’s to say what it’d be like a year from now?
I don’t want to scare you guys (I promise!) I just thought I’d share.

We ended up cancelling our reception at Cruiseport. Unfortunate circumstances forced us to change the whole wedding. While most of our other vendors worked with us as much as they could, Cruiseport was unrelenting. They lied to us continuously throughout the process. The final straw with them was when we called up the coordinator we were working with, and she pretended we had the wrong number!! Beware!!!

Oh no! I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope it all works out all right! Would filing a complaint to the BBB or local chamber of commerce (theirs would most likely be the Cape Ann CoC) be worth it to you?
