What do you mean, “warped”? First of all…ouch! I’m crying inside for your pinky because crushing fingers sucks like a hooker with a quota, no lie. Second of all, two weeks should be plenty of time for it to heal, but if it’s not 100% perfect, your photographer can always fix it with Photoshop. Try not to worry…and ice that poor thing!
Sorry, we can’t tell you. It depends on what the injury is. Did you go see a doctor?
“sucks like a hooker with a quota” – hahahaha! Ditto on the ice, swelling will go down. And no one will be focusing on your pinky unless you point it out.
Depends on how fast you heal, too. I’ve got a scrape on my leg that, a few years ago, would’ve been healed in a week. Two months later, it’s still pink and raised.
@maybride2011: OUCH!!!! Major OUCH!
ICE! Lots and lots of ice. Also, worse case scenario, you can get a nice pair of pretty gloves to wear 😉 think Opera-type gloves! Or even lace gloves…
Also, be glad you didn’t require stitches or anything like that. I crushed my finger in the car door years ago and ended up needing stitches… and I had also CRUSHED THE BONE. And it still hurt like hell if I smash it, even lightly.
Hope it gets well soon!!!!!
Oh man can I relate! I’ve had my pinky crushed in a locker, my hand crushed between a heavy metal door and a brick wall, and 42 stitches in my thumb because of a benign tumor. So I can totally relate on the whole “hand injury” thing.
If the bones are broken, I’m sorry but you may be wearing a brace on your wedding day! Usually a brace that is hard metal and wrapped around both the injured finger and a neighboring finger. If this is the case, get a flesh-colored bandage to cover it and try to hide your fingers in your bouquet!
If the bones are not broken, then two weeks will probably be enough time for it to heal!
@Oribel013690: I only had a brace for the weekend, despite the crushed bone. But that was because it was the VERY TIP of my finger that was crushed.
A brace just wasn’t going to do any good. The bone was either gonna knit back together or float around. It kinda knitted back together… sorta.
@maybride2011: you definitely should have it checked out, just to be on the safe side.
Wait – are we talking broken bones or just a squished-in-a-door type thing here?
Squish, like bad squish. Pretty sure its not broken. Only can’t bend it cause of swelling
Get thee to a doctor. They could write you a book about “pretty sure”! Bonus: they’ll tell you how to care for it, and maybe how you can get it looking normal-er for your wedding.
I’m not getting married in two weeks but I’m literally feeling your pain right now- I’m on vacation in Kauai and got back from snorkeling a bit earlier and some how managed to slam my finger in the hinge side of the really heavy, wood framed screen door to our condo. I let out some not so nice words and my finger is all puffed up and bruised underneath and is still killing me a few hours later. I thought the tip of my pinky was going to come off in the door…y
Hope your finger is looking better for your wedding!
I injured my pinky (thought I sprained it, turns out I tore the ligament that connects the top part of the pinky to the rest) and I’ve had a brace on for the past month…it will be in place on my wedding day. Luckily it’s my right hand…but, I totally feel your pain! My advice would be to see a doctor, because you don’t want permanent damage to your finger, even if it means having it wrapped or in a splint on your wedding day. =/ I hope you feel better!
