@amorganmills11:  I haven’t found a dress myself so I can’t speak from personal experience, but I have seen many brides say yes and no one cries. And I have read many posts on here where a bride has said yes and not one tear was shed. I think you’re normal ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hollywood has brainwashed women into thinking they have to cry or jump up and down or have an explosive reaction to “the dress.”

Not so! My face was somewhat around ๐Ÿ˜ when I bought my dress.

@amorganmills11:  You may be setting yourself up for disappointment if you base your expectations on carefully cut / spliced / produced TV shows or movies.  TV shows only use the most dramatic and outrageous footage, and movies are seldom like real life.   Hopefully you can just enjoy your experience, whatever it is, without feeling like it’s failed if it doesn’t match someone elses.

Congrats on finding your dress!

I definitely didn’t cry. I was like, “Yay! It’s so pretty! I want to keep this one!” and then I paid, and then I left, lol.

When I found my dress I sure didn’t. I pretty much knew I wouldn’t. I’m just not an overly emotional person.  My mom was the only one with me and she didn’t either, thank god, because I would probably feel awkward.

@amorganmills11:  First off, congrats on finding the right dress thats amazing!

I actually didn’t cry either. I had built it up in my head so much that I was going to cry, and my friends and my mum but it wasn’t like that. I did get oohs and ahhs and my mum only teared up when I started saying “This is what I am going to wear as you and dad walk me down the aisle”

So don’t worry, if you’ve found it, you’ve found it! Crying is just what some people do but not everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

@Hyperventilate:  HAHA ! I love your face reaction description.

Mine was pretty much a mix between all smile and guilty/hesitant because of the price. I barely ever spend more than 100$ at a time so it seemed like a lot to me. I didn’t cry either. But I smiled at my reflection in the miror. ๐Ÿ™‚

@amorganmills11:  I didn’t cry. I am so not an overly emotional person… It is just a dress to me. My friend that I brought did cry, though. I sort of giggled at her, because she is a very sweet and emotional cutiepie.

Congrats on finding your dress!

I cried when I tired on my first pick, its wasnt my dress but it was the amazing emotions of YAY I AM GETTING MARRIED!!!

But when I found my dress I was more doing a happy dance, I didnt want to leave the store or take off my dress. I was/am soo happy and excited! Smile
