We just booked at Ballyowen for June 2012. I absolutely loved it. Ceremony outside (with a good backup option), cocktail hour in the clubhouse, which has a wrap around porch, and reception in the pavillion. I liked the rustic look of the pavillion personally– though I imagine some people wouldn’t. It has a paving stone floor plus a dance floor, and windows on 3 sides. You sort of have to go outside to get to the bathrooms, but it didn’t bother us because we wanted an indoor/outdoor feel. They also open up doors to outside to a garden and a firepit area during the reception. We’ll have a lot of out of town guests and we will block rooms at the Mountain Creek lodge (159/night), and there’s also condo/townhouses for rent at mountain creek. We’re paying 95/pp for the silver package + 1 hr. 5 hrs open bar, 8 passed h’ordeurves, 2 cold display stations, then sit down dinner with salad, plated appetizer, main course, cake + petit fours. The bride and groom get a free night at one of the lodges, and if you block enough rooms they can provide a shuttle for your guests.

Our 2nd option was the Indian Trail Club. They have a terrible website but it’s really a nice place. The banquet hall is a little more formal, but not NJ glitz, and they have a beautiful patio for cocktails by the lake.

I liked these photos:

That sounds amazing! I looked at Crystal Sprigns option and they all look GORGEOUS.

@NJRun, thanks for the price break down! What oher price options did they have? Don’t need specifics by is your rate on the high end or low end of what they offer? It sounds like a really nice package.

For Saturday night weddings Silver/Gold/Platinum pricing is:

Black Bear is 75/85/136

Ballyowen is 85/121/150 (Silver is only 4 hrs, but 10$/pp extra for 5 hrs so 95)

Minerals is NA/ 135/174

Grand Cascades is NA/174/210

Silver package is open bar, passed appetizers, 2 cold displays, 4 course dinner. Gold and Platinums add on more passed appetizers (8,10,12), hot stations, more cold displays, seafood/raw bar, and vienesse tables, chocolate fountains, and other exceses. We didn’t want a ridiculous cocktail hour (gotta save room for that 4-course meal!) so we went with silver + the extra hour)

There’s a few other perks in the packages too, like a suite for the bride and groom at one of their hotels, foursome of golf, shuttles if you book enough rooms, etc

and I meant to say, our pricing was at the lower end of what they offer (ballyowen is less expensive than crystal springs/grand cascades or mineral springs) and we chose silver as opposed to gold or platinum. I hope this helps!

That honestly sounds like such a good deal! And I LOVE the pics I’ve seen from Ballyowen. Amazing. What hotels are your guests going to stay at?

What do you think of Black Bear? That pricing is just such a good deal. I can’t believe Grand Cascades is so much – I mean the place is gorgeous but still – it’s not The Plaza Hotel in NYC you know?

We’re going to do the Appalaichain at Mountain Creek– it’s less expensive than Minerals or Grand Cascades, and i like the mountain look! You can block discounted rooms at any of them I think though because they are all owned by Crystal Springs. Not sure if there are many other hotel options in the area.

My parents drove up through black bear and didn’t like the way you have to drive through the Walmart parking lot to get to it. I didn’t see the actual venue though.
