wedding planning is really fustrating. It seems like everything in my area is super expensive and I feel overwhelmed. I set the budget to about 10-12k but it just feels like I am asking for a miracle. Even if I only invite 75 people it is pushing it.
I don’t want a traditional wedding, I want a venue that simple, elegant, fun, and unique. If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. I moved to the area a few years ago anD I feel so clueless. All of my friends here spent 20k to 30k for a wedding and just can’t bring myself to spend that much. Please help!

I agree that CT and RI are def expensive! Could you give a better idea of what you’re looking for in a venue? Barn, ocean, exclusively indoors, etc. Any other details would be great. There are def venues that will work, it just depends on what you want.

@PaisleyMedic: I can work with anything… My Fi wants a a more rustic wedding I want a more elegant one. We are both willing to compromise. I don’t need a huge bridal party. I want it to be very intimate

Why don’t you look into a tent wedding? You could totally combine your style of elegant and rustic that way and there are a lot of places you could save money if you do a lot of DIY details. It could be a lot of work but could also be worth it. Have you tried Eolia Mansion as well? I remember the fee being pretty low there, especially if its not high time and on a fri or sunday. Good luck! you will find something you love soon enough! 🙂

Hi- I’m not sure where you are located but there is a really cool place in Bethel CT called Capelaro’s Grove. They are primarily a picnic grove but are trying to break into the wedding business. They were the first place we looked at and we fell in love. We ended up not booking there mainly because of its distance from us.
Look them up online- they have a really cool “Garden Room” that I think is more rustic – but can also still be very elegent. I think you could really work out a great price with them too.
If you are open to it, look into a Thursday night wedding. We are on a budget too and decided on a Thursday night – we are getting the amazing wedding that we’ve dreamed of, at a fraction of the usual price. Our venue, Anthony’s Ocean View, offers their Fri/Sat night packages at 50% off on a Thursday! Our Vendors have given us some really great deals for the thursday night as well.
Good Luck!
