I hear you. I basically try to avoid addressing them by their first names, although I do if necessary. Am I the only one who doesn’t like “Mom” and “Dad,” because I have my own Mom and Dad and it just doesn’t feel right? Anyway, we all had a discussion about it one day, so I am sure they don’t mind if I use their first names, but they also understand why I feel strange doing so.

I’m the same way with always calling people Mr. and Mrs.  Its funny actually, my mom friends have been telling me I can call them by their first names now but I can’t!!! It would just be too weird.  I called my soon to be in laws Mr. and Mrs, until they started addressing their emails to me as Mom and Dad (last initial).  I resisted calling them that for a while cuz it seemed weird, but I’m used to it now.  My fiance has been calling my parents momma and poppa for a while now too haha.
