I am having cupcakes for my cake with a cake at the top to continue the traditional cutting of the cake. The top cake that FI and I are cutting into will be cheesecake since that is the only kind of cake we eat and the cupcakes will be assorted flavors we haven’t decided on yet:

I plan on making some pedestals of various sizes (kind of like these, but with a lighter material since I’ll need to ship them).

The cake top that we cut into will go on the highest pedestal.  And the current plan is to make mini pinwheels as cupcake toppers and a few larger ones for the cake part.  So excited!

we’ll be having cupcakes for the guests, and then a small cake for us, so we can do a traditional cake cutting ceremony. i plan on baking the cupcakes myself, with the help of my mom and my bridesmaids (: i haven’t decided how to display them yet, since i don’t know how many we’ll need. i was thinking either a round or square tiered display, just to keep things simple.

DH and I had a cake at our wedding but had cupcakes at our at home reception.

I’m making a variety of cake platters out of white plates attached to candle holders spray painted black. (black and white wedding)
