If you were a guest at a wedding with cupcakes for dessert (instead of cake) and the cupcakes were a normal size and there were 4 different flavors to choose from, how many cupcakes would you take and eat? I’m also interested to hear how your fiance answers the question too!

I would eat one. Fiance would eat two as long as they weren’t chocolate.
I know this because we are having cupcakes too and needed a rough estimate.

Just for good manners, I’d probably only eat one… but I might see if someone else wanted to trade halves with me to see how things taste. I had the same thought about cupcakes, but I think most people wouldn’t eat more than two, if even that. Most people wouldn’t want to look like they are eating so much.

I’d probably eat one because of manners and all that. Darling Husband may eat two. Plus I agree that I might see if someone could go halfsies with me on a differnt flavor. I agree with PP that most people wouldn’t eat more than two. But I do love cupcakes lol.

I’m making my own cupcakes and wedding cake (yes, I may be an idiot but what the heck) and I am figuring one per person only because we also have a dessert table with mini flans, cheesecakes, chocolate/fruit fountain etc… I cant see people having more than two if that is the only dessert, but I would think people would take one to start and then if there are some left they usually go for seconds.

I’d eat one. If there were a large amount of leftovers, I may go back for more, but I doubt it. For me, usually by the time dessert rolls around, I’m tired or full from dinner.

I am an all or nothing gal…. I would take one of each….
I also do that at a buffet style restaurant, take one of each cake flavor…. etc…

My fiance says one of each.
I’m saying two, but to be honest, it might be more like three, especially if all the flavors sound good.

Curious abot this too! We’re having 4 flavors of cup cakes (carrot cake, bananas foster, chocolate w/ salted caramel, and lemon raspberry). But we’re also having a dessert buffet. Our dessert lady (well, doing half of the desserts – cupcakes and a few others) said to order 1- 1.5 cupcakes a person. If I were a guest, I’d get one of each flavor and split w/ my partner, but I LOVE cupcakes!

I’m a cake lover, so would be tempted to try them all, especially if there seemed to be extra, But o’d probably keep it to 2. This actually happened at the last wedding I went to. Initially, Fiance and I both took one. An hour of dancing later, the stand was still full of cupcakes,so we eac ate another

I’ve been reading all these comments and I was just wondering, are these mini cupcakes you’re talking about or regular sized ones? Regular sized cupcakes, which is what I plan to make, are about the same as a slice of cake … never mind being a good 500 calories on average. I cant imagine eating 2 or 3 or more if there are several flavours. Maybe people would have more if they are smaller vs normal size?

We had four flavors (two for each of us), 150 guests and we ordered 13 dozen, 156. Some people ate two or three, some people ate none, and there was lots of sharing so people could try different flavors. We ended up with about 20 left over at the end of the night.

We had 3 flavors, around 90-100 guests (we were exspecting like 120ish) and 18 dozen cupcakes. Counting for the fact there were about 20 college age men there who can eat their weight in food daily, we had like 2 dozen left. And they were full sized cupcakes. I think people will eat more if there are more flavors because they want to try different ones.

We will be getting the normal sized cupcakes, not the mini size.
Thanks for the info ladies! Although I do love me some cupcakes and wouldn’t mind taking the leftovers home, I’m just trying to prevent over spending on the budget.
On a different note, anyone think it’s tacky if we were to say on our cupcake menu “Limit 2 Please”?
