So… I’d like to do cupcakes, and I found a place who makes ones that taste FANTASTIC. Funny thing is going with her will be more expensive than a cake through our venue, but it make be worth the slight increase in price. My one concern is I don’t like her cupcake tower. It looks like this:
And I want something that looks a little more like this…
I like the little cake on top and for all the cupcakes to be in the tower vs on the table. Does anyone know where you can get used cupcake tower? I know towers can be as much as $100 which I can’t really justify in addition to the higher cost for going to this baker. Should I just stick with the baker that is included in the package? Or just buy little ones for centerpieces? Are they a difficult DIY project?
What do you think?

Will she allow you to supply your own? First, make sure of that. If so, then there are lots of places to look and find them somewhat inexpensively. We opted for the standard cupcaketree.com and then covered it with paper and put ribbons around the outside. It looks fantastic and it’s something many BEE’S have used. It’s $39, holds up to 300 cupcakes and you can re-use or trash.

can you ask her to rent a different style for you? the bakers i’ve talked have all shown me books that have different styles and they’ve said they will get whichever stand i prefer. the ones you show that you like better as inexpensive, so maybe just order one online or make one yourself and provide it for the baker if they’re ok with that.

@AmberAustin: For our wedding we used a cardboard tower from http://www.cupcaketree.com. We decorated it and although fairly inexpensive we were disapointed with the end result. Our friends got a tower from http://www.penguincupcaketowers.com and theirs turned out much better. I’d recomend trying that one.
