I was going to do this same thing for my cupcakes… we had three different kinds I wanted to distinguish between and I was also afraid they would take them before we  got to cut the cake! Then, my fiance basically talked me out of it and I decided not to worry about it.  In the end, it didn’t matter that there wasn’t a sign, people tried them all! And no one took one before we did! I think it helped that we had it set up before you entered the buffet area so people kind of got the hint to wait.

Yes it looks fine for what you’re trying to achieve, but I also think if you’re not dead set on it, it may not be necessary! Like I said, everyone left ours alone and your flavors aren’t anything too crazy that people won’t be able to figure it out!

@out4answers:  You got 4 responses in the other post.

It would be a little more accurate to say you didn’t get enough responses or that you are looking for more suggestions.

It is a bit demeaning to those of us who took the time to respond to that post to say here that you got “NO responses”.

Hi There,

Since our cupcakes/cake were made from a local baker I use the names and descriptions of my flavours from the website.  I was lucky that the different flavours had different toppings (ie. chocolate curls, grated coconut, etc.) so it was easy to figure them out.  All you had to do was look at the sign and look for the topping you wanted.  I nevered worried about placing all the same kinds together as most cupcake shops design the different flavours differently…or at least have different “embellishments”.

I made a note at the bottom of my sign that said enjoy….please help yourself.  If you wanted you could add please enjoy after the cake cutting….BUT I really don’t think that is needed.  Cupcakes are common enough that people know not to touch until the cake cutting.

Hope this helps! 🙂
