I think it’s completely fine.  I am not a fan of elaborate wedding cakes though.  I think they all seem a little too gaudy for me.

I had a dessert bar with many types of desserts and a small cake for cutting.

Cupcakes are GREAT! I have never been to a wedding with cupcakes and all the “wedding cakes” that I’ve tasted weren’t the greatest. I wanna get a cake from a local shop.. Soo delicious, different layers with coconut, guava, passion fruit! (We are also having s’mores and an ice cream bar) –not original but it works!

I really want to do a cupcake tier, maybe with a small cake at the very top so we have something to cut into (and freeze and eat on our 1-year anniversary). They’re cute, probably cheaper, and you can do more variety of flavors.

we are doing cupcakes. I really wanted a cake but the place that makes the greatest cake flavor I have ever had is a cupcake bakery and that is all they do so cupcakes it will be because I absolutely want that flavor at my wedding. And we are going to pick another flavor as well(FI’s favorite) and that way guests will have the option to pick whichever one they like best.

I like the way the cake looks for a wedding and I love the idea of the cake cutting but I’d totally take a cupcake over cake anyday. I guess I don’t care either way iit’s all delicious!

I go to my cake tasting on November 11 to pick out my cake, my wedding cake is included in my venue package, I will be looking into cupcakes with a small cake for cutting. If I can go with a cupcake tier as my “free” cake, or have to pay alittle for it I’m going the cupcake route. If they want to much money I’ll stick with the “free” wedding cake.

We’re having a small cake to cut, and cupcakes for everyone else. It’s going to be easier than having someone cut cake for them. We don’t have staff to do it, and I don’t want a guest to have to do it.

I don’t think it should matter. People shouldn’t do things because it’s trendy, they should have what they like.

We are doing a cupcake tower with a small cake at the top. I’m not one to follow “trends” really. I like cupcakes 🙂

Cupcakes are awesome!  Trendy or not…it’s a cupcake, and if my grandma was dying on the floor….I can say I’d probably step over her to get one.

We’re doing cupcakes too…and we’ll have favor boxes for anyone too full from dessert.  We’re coming in from out of state for our wedding so nowhere to put giant left over cake.

Since I saw the cupcake trend, I always thought it was such a cool idea! It’s much easier, and usually cheaper. Not to mention it looks ADORABLE in photos!
