Did any bride or is any bride planning to have this instead of a tiered cake?
I am very interested in doing one instead of the tiered cake I originally thought of having, not only looks but for cost as well.
I looked online for local cupcake shops and for 200 cupcakes is a good HALF price of the tiered cake… so now I am looking up cupcake stands that I can factor in the cost and whatnot.
So yes… if you did a cupcake cake for your wedding PLEASE show me pictures! I’ve seen many online and love it but I want to see what you gals did!!

I can’t contribute with recaps, but I’m curious to see the responses. We plan on having a two-tiered cake, which serves 50 and if everyone comes, we’d have 100, so we plan on having cupcakes to fill in the remaining “plates.” Plus, for us, it’s cheaper to do that than go with three-tiered cake or 100+ cupcakes.

Check with the baker/cupcake shop to see if you can rent stands from them. That’s what we did. 🙂 The wooden base was $25 rental and I think the stand was $10~so if you can rent it might be cheaper than buying something.
We opted for a 6 inch cake on top to cut. Worked well for us. 🙂
