Cupcakes are very in and I think its a great idea. I don’t have pictures, but I would warn you against the eggplant coloured icing. I worked in a bakery for years that did many dark coloured icings and they often times ended up dying peoples mouths funny colours. It was fine if you are at a childs birthday, but maybe not find for a wedding. just something to consider.

I agree with the pp. I would keep the main frosting color as latte. Food dye will stain fingers, lips and tongues.

I’m so happy we decided to go with cupcakes!  They were beautiful and delicious!  We also had cookies and cakeballs on the groom’s “cake”

My favorite part was how did our “cake cutting”  my brother in law yelled us to eat the cupcake with no hands and we aren’t one to back down from a challenge 😉

I would keep the icing color neutral and bring in your colors with fondant toppers

Sort of like this, but maybe you can do an eggplant background with an orange heart…..

or they can use one of the colors on the fondant and stamp it with your monogram, like this

or do a polka dot design in your colors like this

Another way you can bring in your colors is by using colored wrappers

We did cupcakes and everyone loved them! We still had a small tier on top of my cupcake tree for us to have something to cut, but everyone ignored it and went straight for the cupcakes!
