I need an opinion. We are forgoing the traditional wedding cake (not a cake person) and were originally planning on making home-made cupcakes instead. But then I saw the idea of sundae station and we added that through our caterer! I’m super excited about that…
So the question is…do we make cupcakes and have the sundae station? Or just have sundaes? I don’t want everyone to go into sugar shock and/or have a ton leftover of both options…but I know not everyone likes ice cream. I’m only having about 60ish guests.
What do you guys think?

Oh I think that you should do both!!

I am probably the wrong person to answer this as I am of the larger folk lol but I am 100% in support of both!
I think maybe if you just did less of both so you don’t have a lot of left overs. Or maybe you could have the sundae station and then have the cupcakes as a kind of favor?

If the sundaes can be done through your caterer I say just go with the sundaes and save yourself the work of baking cupcakes! People have only cake all the time, and not everyone likes cake, so I don’t think you need to worry about people not liking ice cream, especially if they get to customize their own sundaes!

Both! Especially if you’re not having a traditional cake 🙂

If the cost isn’t prohibitive, I would definitely dive into both if I was at your wedding. 🙂

You’re asking a group of women about sweets… CLEARLY the answer is BOTH! lol
seriously though… who wouldn’t love cupcakes AND ice cream? 🙂

If you can afford it, I say go for both. Not everyone likes ice cream and not everyone can eat cupcakes. We’re having cupcakes, gluten-free cheesecake and an as-yet-unspecified lactose-free dessert at our wedding because so many people have dietary restrictions.

Go with both!!! That is if the budget allows it.

Haha – totally agree with @CorgiTales. What girl wouldn’t want *both* cupcakes *and* ice cream? 😉
If you have both, you probably won’t need nearly as much ice cream – since I would assume that most people would just take one scoop (or so) with their cupcake. Alternatively, you can provide little boxes for the cupcakes so that if people don’t want to eat it right then and there, they can always take their cupcake home as a favour 🙂

If you can afford both, then do both

Cake and ice cream just go together.

Thanks girls! Looks like we will be sticking to both. Maybe mini-cupcakes and a smaller number than originally planned though. 😀

@miss_scarlet: Oooh, mini cupcakes is a good idea 🙂 I’m late to this party, but I vote cake & ice cream, yum!

Both, but sundaes > cupcakes.
