    I hate cake. lol. It’s an odd tasting sponge with little flavor that is filled with too-sweet creams and topped with too-sweet frostings. Ok, maybe I’m a little too harsh, but still.. I never understood why cake has to be a wedding staple.

    It’s like comparing a mountain bike to a toddler’s triycle. Who do you think would win in a race??

    Maybe order 200 of each knowing there will be leftovers, and have take-out boxes available for guests to bring the extras home… if you have out of town guests staying in hotels I’m sure they would appreciate it!

    I personally would go for the cannoli- there’s just something about that filling 🙂 And it’s also something a little different from what you typically see at weddings (at least the ones I’ve been to).

    Go with both! Cannoli is more unique, while the cupcakes will ensure that picky eaters will be happy! I would grab a cannoli at your wedding personally. Side note- this is only if you can get GOOD cannoli’s. I recommend that you get a few from the place you are ordering from and let them sit for a few hours to see what they will be like at your reception! If the shell gets soggy or something skip it.

    It would depend on the cupcake flavours, but I would probably figure “I can have cupcakes any time, but cannolis aren’t always available” though my fiance is Italian, and his mum makes awesome cannolis, so I get them every now and then.

    But I think maybe 150-175 of each. Chances are you’ll have leftovers either way, but that way guests should mostly be happy with what they get 🙂

    OMG canolli! My favourite. Cupcakes are SO overdone and there is nothing worse than a dry cupcake

    Darling Husband agrees 100% cannoli hands down. If it were 50/50 and we got cupcake instead of cannoli, there would be dramas lol

    we would fight a granny for a cannoli

    I have no idea what cannoli is, but I assume it’s a Mexican dish because it’s not available in Europe (the land of cosmopolitan food)… ? Here’s the question: can you eat cannoli just using your hands, or do you need a plate and cutlery? Because one of the great things about cupcakes is that you can just take one and eat it on the go, standing up. Very convenient for people who want to mingle/dance etc. If you need a plate then it becomes fiddly.

    My answer is: every single cannoli I can get my hands on. Seriously.  I’m an addict.  Plus, I’m not a big cupcake fan (they’re just so blah) – so if the choice is between those, my answer is multiple cannolis.

    I feel like a pig now, haha.

    @Rachel631:  It is an Italian dessert. It is a pastry filled with ricotta cheese usually

    @abbie017:

    @linz09:

    Heh, go figure. Just looked it up. I’ve never heard of them before. It does say that they’re most common in Sicily and America though. They could be OK. I still think I’d prefer brandy snaps with cream and fruit though… nom nom…
