@Groominator:  We plan to do cupcakes and from what I have priced so far, standard cupcakes are anywhere between $1.90 to $3.00/each. It depends on how fancy you want them.

ETA: I just read some other comments and I felt I should add this is from cupcake bakeries, not someone’s house. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with that and would just make them myself before going that route!

Ours were the standard size.  We didn’t go to the trendy, cupcake shops (there are many in Boston!) because they wanted $2.50+ for their cupcakes.  We asked a well known wedding bakery to custom decorate the cupcakes for us.  And, it was only $1.75 each.

Standard cupcakes.  Gourmet, $1.25, Regular $1.  We found a woman that does it out of her house instead of a professional baker/shop. I had a hard time getting “professionals” to get back to me. So I ended up finding someone that does work out of their home. They are more reasonably priced.

They run $3-5 a piece here, depending on how fancy you want them. Actually, they could be more for “wedding” ones, as these were the prices I encountered for the bridal shower and baby shower I threw this year.

We only paid $.66 a piece for our cupcakes. We just went through a local grocery store bakery. We got to pick out whatever flavors we wanted and however we wanted them decorated. They were absolutley amazing! They were standard cupcake size. Got lots and lots of compliments on them!

We’re doing standard-size cupcakes, and the bakery (which specializes in cupcakes but does a few other things) is charging us $3 each.  In the bakery itself, the same cupcakes are $2.50 each (or $27/dozen), so the wedding markup is a little annoying, but they are willing to customize everything (frosting designs/colors, wrappers, garnishes, etc.) and their delivery charge is only $25, so I guess it evens out…and it’s definitely still cheaper than the cake vendors who wanted upwards of $10/slice of wedding cake!

Sigh. Too much. $4.50 each (Australian dollars) but it’s a small-ish remote town and they are delicious!

We ordered an assortment of mini cupcakes and they were $0.99 for the standard flavors and $1.49 for the seasonal flavor and the hi-hat style flavors.

They are about $2 – $2.50 a peice here .    You might be also to get good ones for slightly under $2 if you have an order of more than 50.

Not sure the price per cupcake, but I was looking for a small 6 inch cake to cut into and 5 dozen cupcakes.  We went to every bakery in the area, and we were quoted around 300 at each one.  We ended up deciding that it was more than we could afford and finding a specialty grocery store that could make delicious cupcakes and the small for 100.
