We’ve been doing tons of research for our honeymoon and it looks like we are leaning towards Curacao which has tons of great stuff that we’d love to do…Scuba, Horseback riding, fishing, culture, food, sailing, beaches, etc., etc.
We are both getting closer to deciding on Curacao — but was hoping that there might some other Bees out there that have been there that might have some insight…

We had a blast in Curacao – we went in July, and it was absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the Lodge Kura Hulanda, which is out in Westpunt (about 45 minutes from the capital, Willemstad). They had a free shuttle into town every day, so we didn’t worry about getting a rental car.
Our favorite thing that we did was we took a Jeep Eco-Tour (through Curacao Actief) – we did the ‘desert and cave’ tour, and it was incredible… we got to see a lot of the north shore, which is a bit more wild, and the surf is pretty rough. Also got some great pictures of one of the windmill farms, and just all in all had a great time. (I’ll post some pictures tomorrow… they’re on my other computer.)
Food is very good just about anywhere… but ice cream can be insanely expensive, which made me laugh. Makes sense, though, as its probably all imported.
Let me know if you have any particular questions I can answer for you. (Weatherwise, it’s one of the smarter islands to go in October – they are outside of the hurricane zone.)

@mak418 – Thank you so much for your feedback! It sounds amazing and I can’t wait to see pics. If I have any questions as we begin our planning, I’d love to be able to reach out to you!!
PS – We better get our ice cream fix before we go. lol. That is pretty funny.

Since your honeymoon is in October, this is probably at great choice. I am pretty sure this is one of the few places (also Aruba) that is out of the way of hurricanes in that area. That can be a very bad month for them and can really ruin a honeymoon!!
Have a fantastic time!

Figured I’d post a little eye candy from our honeymoon – my apologies if they turn out huge!
Here’s the view from the path on the ocean side of our room (each is like a quarter of a townhouse/villa type building – there are two sides, and each has an upper room (with a balcony), and a lower room (with a patio). We had an upstairs one, and loved it – beautiful views, and loved our balcony.
The view from lunch – note the thatched roof! hehe.
And here’s a shot I took on our Jeep tour, on the north side of the island. Much more wild looking! And much bigger surf.
Okay, I guess I should quit while I’m ahead. Feel free to PM me with any questions!

@mak418 You are such a sweetheart for sharing! It does look gorgeous. I think that we have (almost) decided!! I’m 100% down for Curacao…. I can’t wait to show the future hubby pics to seal the deal 🙂

I have been to Curacao 3 times and are planning our 4th trip right now. Curacao is a blast. The hubby and I are into diving so that is why chose Curacao. In my opinion the diving gets better the further north you go. Playa Kalki is absolutely beautiful diving site, but not the best beach. We love going to Casa Abo for the day, has a place you can get tanks, a little restaurant and a great beach. If you have any questions, let me know.
