I’m just curious about a cultural thing. Does the bride pay for the bridemaids’ dresses? Do they discuss together the colour, style,….? Here in Europe we only have a maid of honour (or witness) and she chooses her own dress and pay for it. I have no idea of what my maid of honour is gonna wear on my wedding day and it’s the same for most brides. I always see bridemaids in Holliwood movies and I love it, but I guess it’s also very expensive if the bride has to pay.

It is really up to the bride. Where I’m from, it’s typical for the bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses, but sometimes if the bride has the money, she’ll gift them the dresses, or at least help pay for some. But the dresses are picked out by the bride. Sometimes the bride will choose different dresses for each girl, and sometimes everyone has the same dress.

It depends on where you’re from and your cultural background.
I live in Florida, and when I asked my girls to be bridesmaids, they all pretty much assumed they were buying their dresses.

My girls paid for their dresses and I made their jewelry, but I found super cheap dresses on the internet.

Here it is assumed that the bridesmaids buy their own dress. When I was asked to be the matron of honor at my friends wedding we went to the store and looked at dresses together (with the other bms) to find one. It was a little difficult for us since we had to find a dress that wouldl accomodate my 9 month pregnant belly since she wanted us to have the same dress :/
