It’s hard to get the date exactly right. I wouldn’t stress over a difference of two days. 🙂

Sperm live for 5 days, eggs live for 24 hrs once released. It’s possible that you were a day off on the ovulation estimate, but 6w4d sounds about right.

They can live up to 5 days. Remember your dute date is based on your 1st day of your last period… So the two weeks (or however many days) from CD 1 and ovulation count towards your time. So even though your egg didn’t implant until over two weeks later you are considered to be 4 weeks at the time of your BFP

They are not accurate when they measure at that stage.  Anything within a week is considered accurate according to my doctor.  I wouldn’t stress about a few days.

A few days difference is fine, if at around 20weeks it is more than a week I believe they will change it then but as for now they will go off of this u/s.

@figgnewton:  I was measuring a few days behind at my 12 week appointment. The doc told me that because it was a few days they weren’t going to change my due date. Like what @Izzy81: said if it’s more than a few week at your 20 week appointment then they will move your due date.

@figgnewton:  I have heard that in some instances sperm can live for up to 5 days…so maybe that’s what happened? And yeah, measuring this early on seems kind of like a toss up. They screwed up my measurement last week and this week I’m measuring at or a day behind what I should be based off of my LMP. So weird. I’m sure as we progress further, we’ll get a more accurate date. Either way, your LO is doing great, so your hubby’s sperm did the trick, whatever or whenever that was! 😉

@figgnewton:  One other thing you have to remember is that all babies grow at different speeds. Same as anything else there is an “average” for a certain time but that does not mean if your baby doesn’t fall within that “normal” range that there is something wrong. Dr’s consider 37weeks term yet you can still be pregnant at 42weeks, that is a 5 week difference. I have been measured at 5days ahead of dd, 3 days, and 1 day. Does not mean the tech measured wrong or that my baby is growing too fast just that my baby grows at it’s own pace wether it be ahead or behind the “due date” they give you.

My baby was ahead of O date. like PP said anything +/- a week is normal. My doc didnt even want me to do an u/s till 7 weeks because it could have been measuring behind with no Hb yet
