I used perfect circle as well and it was super fast and easy. I did it the morning after I got engaged, all you need is the appraisal as pp’s have said. I honestly didn’t really shop around I liked the serious coverage perfect circle gives compared to adding it to my other policies. I believe my policy costs around $400 a year which is worth it to me should something ever happen to my ring. I’ll be adding my wedding band on there and prob his as well once we get them!

Great info in here. I just did the instant quote on jewelers mutual for my Girlfriend e-ring, my prospective e-ring and our bands which I already have picked out: $65 a year. Not bad. Our wedding sets will be $2K each which isn’t terrible expensive but we wouldn’t have that amount of money just laying around for replace rings for quite some time so better safe than sorry and ringless!

.elle: mine is insured on our home insurance policy. The policy covers single items worth up to £1500/$2400,anything worth more than that you have to pay a small supplement for. My ring is valued at £2850/$4600, so I think we pay about £15 extra per year. I looked into separate insurance/jewellery insurance but it would have cost about 4-5 times that, and didn’t offer any better cover. Mine is insured against damage as well as loss and theft both inside and outside of the home Inc abroad.
