Combined we probably have around $2,000 on our credit cards every month.  This includes food, gas, entertainment, gifts, travel, etc.

We don’t use credit cards for every day spending, we will only use it for things like flights or big purchases and that is only because of the extra consumer protections.  So we will maybe put 3k on it one month and then not use it for 6 months, but we always pay it immediately and never carry over a balance.

For those inevitable “we never carry a balance, we pay it immediately” people, I’m pretty sure the point of the question is how much do you spend using a credit card each month, not how much do you carry over at the end of the month.

I would say our average is about $3000 per month. That’s probably high considering I only looked at the past few months which include Christmas and purchasing some new furniture. We put as much as possible on our cards to get the reward points.

I don’t think OP is asking how much balance do you carry over but more of how much are you putting on CCs monthly.

Most of our spending is put on our joint card and we average around 4K. We put almost everything on our card for points.

Just checked my 2017 year end summary and I spent a total of $25,000 last year, meaning it was about $2000 a month, but also last year I got married and put most of the expenses on my card so withoutthe wedding expenses I’d probably be closer to $1000 a month. I also travel a lot for work so some of that is hotels/car rentals/food that I got reimbursed for. Without any work travel or wedding expenses, I only charged about $400 this month. I charge pretty much everything, too, just because I never have cash on me, and I always pay in full at the end of the month, so none of that is interest or carryover.

asobos :  this isnt about the carry over.

Maybe someone will start a thread about how fast or completely everyone pays their credit card bill off and then that would be the appropriate place for those comments

MrsBeck :  By pretty much copying text from my answer and not the first post? Okay.

The first post is correct anyway, if she pays it off every 2 weeks her bill is zero, which is the question OP asked.

megasaurus_rex :  Hubby and I have separate credit cards and I usually have a pretty low bill each month – from $200-$500 for groceries, gas, getting nails done, occasional coffee, etc.. I did put our new mattress and flights to Europe on it in the last couple months, so those months it was $1500-$2500, which is way higher than average.

zzar45 :  I didn’t copy your text at all. I actually only read the first post before laughing and adding my response but I’m sorry you feel that way. You’ll find that is a pretty common please when people talk about credit cards.

I think the question is pretty clear based on what OP wrote. If you want to argue semantics that’s fine but I think people are being purposely obtuse by pretending they don’t know what OP meant.
