@gangqinjia:  The only thing Fiance told me before I went shopping was that he didn’t like dresses with one shoulder.  In his mind, it should either be strapless or have two straps.

Since it was his only request, I tried to steer clear of dresses with only only strap. I ended up with a strapless dress with a matching bolero jacket for the ceremony.

Fiance was very clear he didn’t want lace or any pouf at all. I took him to one store and took note of  what he seemed to go for, and did end up with something very similar (strapless, narrow a-line, pretty fitted, no train). He loved it πŸ™‚

Doesn’t care in the least. As long as it isn’t crazy expensive, that’s his only request. He has been in the room when I’m watching SYTTD and says they all look the same to him.

My Fiance told me he liked a dress that he saw on a DB commercial, and I found a similar dress that was more me. Same fabric and sheath design though. He hasn’t seen it (and doesn’t want to see it until our first look) but i think he will like it. πŸ™‚

Fiance didn’t seem to care at all. I asked him multiple times and every time he just said to get whatever made me feel beautiful and happy and that he was sure I woud look great no matter what the dress looked like πŸ™‚

My Fiance told me he liked poofy ball gowns, but I showed him some different things and he liked them too.  I wound up getting a fit and flare all over lace dress – hope he likes it.

Side note – the Fiance said no purple, but we got a great deal on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses that are regularly 250 for 50, and they are plum.  Woops!  He knows and is okay though!

My Fiance wanted me to have a train, so I respected his wishes and bought a dress with a train.

I told him I was dead set on a non-white dress and he was fine with it and he sheeply asked if I could at least look for a wedding dress with a train, he said he had a dream of his future wife walking down the isle in a beautiful train.

The dress I found…I think is his dream wedding dress…as weird as that is to say. I love it, my mom loves it and I know he will too.

Maybe your Fiance will love the dress when he sees it on you? Sometimes people have such a bad idea about lace but once it is on their body they realize they are in love with lace!

Fiance has his opinions, most definitely. They mostly jive with mine, so that is nice πŸ™‚ he really likes lace, I really like lace. He hates poofy ballgowns, I hate poofy ballgowns. He hates skirts with ruffles/flowers/etc. I kind of like ruffles, but he has called them “feather-duster” dresses and I do NOT want to wear one and hear him call me a feather-duster all night! I have it narrowed down to three dresses – one a lace trumpet with really subtle allover beading, one a chiffon trumpet, and the other a lace sheath with a bit more obvious allover beading. From asking some leading questions I think he would prefer either of the lace dresses over the chiffon. I still have to decide what sort of mood I’m going for with this wedding, because that’s going to influence the final dress decision, so we’ll see what I end up with!

I asked mine if he had any opinions before I went shopping and he told me to get whatever I liked, as long as it didn’t have a turtleneck and long sleeves lol. I did know from comments he’s made when I’ve been watching SYTTD that he doesn’t like dresses with big rosettes on the skirt (he thinks they look like toilet paper) but they aren’t my style anyway.

So I went with what I liked and I think he’s going to be pretty happy!

I never asked his opinion, I just got a dress that I wanted … he’s seen it and says he likes it, but for all I know that could be just to appease me haha.

I knew from previous experience that my Fiance liked form fitting dresses (go figure, lol), so while I did try on some poofy tulle numbers, they didn’t fit my style, and def. weren’t something the Fiance would be thrilled about.  He would have let me buy whatever dress I wanted, but my priorities were  1) to get a dress I loved then 2) get a dress the Fiance would love, because I want to impress him.  I did, however, ask the Fiance what he would think if he saw me in a dress I saw on TV…and his only response was, “I don’t think you would wear a strapless, because you never wear strapless clothes.”  My dress is strapless…so I don’t know if this will be a pleasant surprise, or just a surprise lol.  We shall see.

Oh he had ideas alright.  And I listened to…none of them. πŸ˜€
