I’ll play! I actually thought I wanted a round cut in a halo setting. I drooled over them and was just SO sure…but then Fiance and I went shopping and there she was…my ring! She was the only one I tried on at the store and it was love at first sight. Mine has a bit of an art-deco feel to the setting that I adore, and it is just so damned pretty…and it is unique. Every gal I know (I’m in my mid 20-s and it seems like it’s mateing season up in here!) has a round stone and I love being a little different.

Here she is πŸ™‚

I just feel like they are different from what I always see in my area – round and princess. I love emeralds and asschers, but I wanted some fire and sparkle. So hello, radiant! I don’t have a pic uploaded, but I have a 1.3 carat radiant that is bezel set in an art deco setting with another carat of diamonds in four sidestones – they are set top and bottom on the sides of the bezel rather than left and right. I’ve never seen one like it (DH had it made custom based on a vintage ring I loved) and I am still absolutely in love with it πŸ™‚

@LavenderBride24:  I really love the way the radiants catch light and throw off gorgeous sparkles! Now the fun part is finding a band to go with it! I’ll probably end up with something pretty plain, though I love the infinity loop bands I’ve been seeing on the boards…

I was soooo tired of seeing rounds and have always been drawn to square or rectangular things (jewelery, furniture, etc.); I like clean lines.  Plus, I have never been one to run with the pack, I always like to stand out a little and do things a bit differently.  I do have a feeling that radiants are gaining momentum and will become increasingly more popular!  πŸ™‚

Here you go… sorry the pics are huge! I’m on my Mac at home and it won’t let me re-size πŸ™

I initially wanted a princess cut and after shopping for a little while I fell out of love with the sharp edges.. also I found out that Radiants are a better value (fancy cuts = cheaper than round/ princess.. score!)

i loved having something a little more unique. πŸ™‚

I love my radiant cut diamond but my Darling Husband and I weren’t even looking at this particular cut when we first went ring shopping. It just so happened that the only diamonds my jeweler had in stock that matched our particular list of specs was a round (which I dislike), a cushion, and a radiant. I was torn between the latter two so the I had the jeweler set both diamonds in the setting. When I saw the radiant one, I just knew that had to be it.

Here she is (1.57 center stone):
