kristin36890 :  I have very thick, naturally curly/wavy hair and I washed, blow dried, and flat ironed my own hair so the morning of the wedding, the stylist only had to curl and pin it the way I wanted it. It probably helps that I have a cosmetology license and I’m good with styling my own hair. But even if I didn’t, I would have still prepped it ahead of time so that it needed minimal styling. At the very least, I’d wash and blow dry it on my own at some point before the stylist does your hair. My hair holds curls better when it’s not freshly washed, so I had been wearing my hair straightened in the days leading up to the wedding anyways. Good luck!

kristin36890 :  Me too. I’m black, by the way, so think curly-fro hair lol It takes me an hour to blow dry and another hour to flat iron my hair. When you factor in shampooing and conditioning treatments, forget it. That’s why I wanted to prep my own hair ahead of time so as to not deal with all of that the morning of my wedding and because few days “old” hair styles better for me.

It sounds like you should discuss it with the stylist who’s doing your hair so that they can factor in all of that styling time. If they’re coming to the hotel then they might suggest you wash it ahead of time because it really doesn’t make sense to try to have someone else wash your hair in the sink or shower. Then they might blow it out and style it from there.
