Oh man. I only WISH my hair could behave like Taylor’s. Hers seems so easily moldable and without a mind of its own. Mine is not like that!

@lairdea I think I will have to have a trial for my own peace of mind. I’ve been in a wedding before and did NOT like the way my hair was done, and I don’t want to risk that for my big day. It might seem petty, but I’m willing to pay twice to get it done so I know it’s how it want it.

Are all of you ladies wearing veils or no? I thought something like this might be pretty to put in my hair when it’s time to take the veil out for the reception:

Um, sorry the picture is huge. Anyway, what do you ladies think? Could it work or would it be too much with curly hair, too? @lairdea sorry, don’t mean to hijack your thread!

I have curls too and debated going straight for the wedding but for similar reasons to the OP will wear my hair curly. Taylor Swift is my inspiration too but I’m hoping to do the all on one shoulder look. I recently started using the Beyond the Zone noodle head line of shampoo and conditioner and feel that it makes my curls soft and easy to manage so I’m hoping to continue through the wedding. My biggest worry is that my curls are inconsistent. Some days my hair is very ringlet curly and others it is more of a wavy with some ringlets (mostly in the back and under). Factors like the drying process and temerature really change how my hair turns out which is why I hesitate to leave it mostly down. I would love to know if anyone has a product recommentation to esure uniform curls with out crunchy hair a la Ms. Swift? Sorry for going a bit off track. I don’T really have an inspiration picture saved to share.

@slicey19 I use John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum combined with a little mousse (I use Pantene brand) leaves my curls soft yet not frizzy and nice/shiny.  I also use Redken Real Control line of products.  They have this awesome masque treatment that should be used once per week but I use it more like every day or every other day and it is sooooooo good for my curls.

In an effort to save money recently, I switched to several other products:  BedHead, Aussie, Suave….and all of them left my hair feeling gross, so I went back to my Redken/Frizz Ease/Pantene combo.  I want my hair feeling and looking awesome for my wedding.  Good luck!

@Slicey19 – I’m also worried about the consistency of my curls on the big day, but I also don’t want a head full of curling iron curls — you know, where stylists use a curling iron to make all the curls look identical.

So, I guess it’s good I have some time until my big day. I need time to experiment.

@Lairdea — Thanks for the reassurance on the hair flower! I’d be hesitant to use mayo! I’ve purchased a Redken hair treatment/masque from my salon before. It was cheaper to purchase a bottle that would last me a few months than to keep getting the masque done by them in the salon.

I have to ask you girls — how did/do you pick a stylist to do your trial and day-of hair? I’m getting married in my hometown but don’t have a stylist there since I don’t live there anymore. I have to admit, I’m really nervous about finding someone within my budget who can do a great job on my hair.

You really need to go to Naturallycurly.com. It helped me so much. You learn what ‘type’ of curl you are. Often people have two or more different types (for instance, 2b on top, 3a underneath). It sounds strange…but anyway, you can then see other users who have the same type of hair as you, and you can see their product recommendations and styling tips. Not to mention the editors of the site and users have reviewed just about every product under the sun!

One thing I’ve found is that most people do not understand curly hair. (My mom is always telling me to ‘just brush it.’ Bah!) But everyone in the forums actually knows what they’re talking about.

Hooray for natural curls!

you look like reece witherspoon in that picture of your hair straight. i have to say, you are very pretty 🙂

your hair straight looks amazing but your hair curly looks naturally beautiful! i hope you wear it both ways depends on your outfit and occasion 🙂 hehe They both compliment you in different ways 🙂

As for your wedding hair, i would do something loose and messy but on purpose. what does your dress look like?
