My hair looovvvess the Surface Curls line. It’s kept my hair hydrated and happy whether I’ve been in the tropics, or in the tundra!

Devacurl’s ultra defining gel usually works pretty well for my wavy/alllllmost curly hair, even with this insane cold. I did notice that it didn’t end up as nicely when it froze the other day while air drying. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn’t have the couple of fat ringlets that I usually get here and there. Guess I need to figure out how to diffuse without becoming a big ball of frizz.

My hair is mostly wavy though, not quite curly, and I’m still experimenting with what it likes best as the gel can sometimes feel a bit heavy. I ordered a kit from devacurl with delux samples of the de-light shampoo/conditioner and the wavemaker cream and I’m excited to try it!

What are your curls like? Thick, thin, 3s or 4s?

sparklesbelle :  Oooo botticelli curls are gorgeous! ❤️ I’ve really liked the frizz control of a gel because my reasonably thick hair gets fuzzy in two seconds flat on its own. The toughest part is keeping myself from touching my hair while it dries to let the gel form a cast and then scrunch it out after. I would totally recommend seeing if you can get a sample of their gel from a sephora if there is one near by if you are interested in trying it out. I’ve had luck in the past with asking for a sample from an employee, but unfortunately don’t live near a Sephora anymore. 🙁 That’s why I’m waiting for this trial kit that I ordered from amazon.

I do a protein treatment (coconut oil) and deep condition (mixed chicks) once a week..If I am consistent with it, my normal products (devacurl and eden bodyworks) will work. If I don’t do the treatment and deep condition, my products don’t work at allll. I do use more argan oil over the Winter too.

I’ve been using the SheaMoisture shampoo and conditioner and the Miss Jessie’s Multicultural Curls leave-in cream and it’s nice!
