I use Biolage Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Balm – it’s actually like a super thick conditioner, but I use it as a leave-in.  Here’s a pic of my hair:

Most days I just wash and condition and then use a leave in conditioner and that’s it. I love devacurl, but it smells way too strong for me, and I try to avoid using chemicals as much as possible. For shampoo and conditioner, I like beautiful curls and acure, both from whole foods. The leave in conditioner I use is from the beautiful curls babies and up line, and it smells absolutely amazing! If I need extra hold I use beautiful curls gel or devacurl gel, but I like my curls soft. When my hair is in good shape and well conditioned, I don’t really need product with a lot of hold.

I tried a bunch of different products before I found the Deva line.  I finally love my curls that to the Deva products.  I use Deva Curl One Condition and Deva Girl ArcAngell Gel. (I tried the Angel gel once, but didn’t like it.)  I use a diffuser, but could probably air dry without the poof that occurred before.  Even humdity used to be an issue, but no longer.

Ditto to TIGI curls rock curl creme, I love this stuff. I just bought the biosilk leave in conditioner, so we’ll see how that works.

Also, if you don’t already use a sulfate free shampoo, you should give it a try. I use HairOne from Sally Beauty. I feel like it has made my hair much smoother and softer, regardless of what product I use. I even had a hairdresser tell me my hair was really healthy – that was a first!

@littlemisst08:  when you say hold is your problem, do you mean frizz? Because I used to have a lot of frizz but when I stopped using sulfate shampoos and started using the curly girl method (basically not towel drying or combing hair) and used really moisturizing conditioners, I haven’t had frizz really since.

@littlemisst08:  ah I see. That happens to me when my hair needs cut. If I let it grow long and without any layers it can look pretty flat. Diffusing helps with volume too, for me at least.

My hair is fine and very curly (3B for those that use Curly Girl). Personally I’ve found that process is as important as product, but after showering I always leave in some of my normal conditioner (Inecto Pure Coconut), then mix together some AG Recoil with some curl activating gel. I apply this mixture to my hair whilst it’s still very wet and it dries nice and soft.

@vorpalette:  agree, love Curls Rock. They leave my curls soft and defined. For more crunchy curls, I o for FrizzEase Zcurling mousse.
