Ok so I hate this store’s name, but I have found some great dresses from Dress Barn. They have them all kinds of styles at pretty reasonable prices.

I personally wore a wrap cotton dress that I bought from Victoria’s Secret. The only problem was that I have huge boobs and I was fighting to keep them in the whole time. I regretted the dress choice for the party, but all in all I think it was fine.

I have this dress in navy and it is a show stopper. It’s not really tea party, but it’s definitely vinatage and bridal. Plus, the dress has a bit of stretch to it (more like being cut on the bias than spandex-y) so it really flatters the figure and the wrap style bottom will give you a little extra room if you are concerned about room for your lower half.

I decided to wear a pop of color for mine as it’s a Mad Hatter Themed Tea Party. My shower isn’t until July 28th (getting so excited!!) so I have to post a model photo. I ended up finding this Calvin Klein beauty at TJ Maxx for $39.00! It comes in ivory as well – so if you have a TJ Maxx near you…check it out! The dress comes to my knees (and I’m 5’4″ – so this model must be pretty dang tall). I’m a street size 10/12 (definitely fall into the “curvy” category). 🙂

For a white dress though – have you tried Macy’s? I saw a couple when I was dress shopping! Like this one – The Spense Dress

Or this one! The Suzi Chin Flutter Sleeve:

Hit up the sales!

I’m not sure if $99 is more than you were planning, but this dress by jcrew is so classic http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/dresses/eveningdinner/PRDOVR~47998/99102423876/ENE~1+2+3+22+4294967294+20~45~~20+17+4294967097~15~~~~~~~/47998.jsp’ defer=’defer

and is available in sizes up to 20, and the aline shape is a good fit for hips and thigh coverage! (and they are having 40% off final sale – so it might be $60?)

I wore this dress from Anthropologie to my first shower, which was more of a party:

I wore this Lauren by Ralph Lauren dress to my family brunch shower:

This is making me realize that need to get pictures from the day!

My advice is to try the ASOS Curve Line. I got my bridal shower dress and rehearsal donner dress from them. Loved them both! I especially loved wearing the bridal shower dress.

@Hippos:  i have to second both hating the name of dress barn and them having good stuff anyway. i went there to look for a suit jacket and was shocked at how cute the dressy dresses they had were

@basketballwifetobe:  you’re gorgeous Loved this dress in your bridal shower recap!

I got mine from Macys. I have an hourglass shape and really liked the stretchy (yet still expensive looking) material of my dress. (Cant find my dress to show you)

BUT they have a bunch of white/ivory dresses
