I wore a dress from ModCloth.

I personally cannot make a purchase without trying it on, my body is just too strange I guess. I purchased my dresses at Macy’s.

While I’m not exactly plus size, I am quite curvy, and I have ordered multiple times from the plus size department at Asos (called Curve) and then altered down to fit me. The dress I wore for my bridal shower I ordered from Asos Curve and did not alter it since it had a tie at the waist anyway which I used to cinch in some extra material.

I’m not sure they still have the dress on the website. It was long sleeve with a v-neck, knee length hem and a tie around the waist. It was black with red flowers all over it. I loved it for the shower. The sleeves were loose around the arm in a draped sort of way, and since the shower was in January, I’m glad I didn’t go out for spring colors and wore something more seasonally appropriate (ok I know, I live in Florida, but I love seasons).

By the way, I just ordered this dress in black here from Asos, in the regular but they have it in Curve, as well (which is where I saw it, since I troll the Curve section most often). I love this dress! They have it in red, black and cream. The cream would be most appropriate for a bride looking to stay within the “white family” for her events.

It’s a swing dress with a hi-low hem. I’m looking forward to the forgiving silhouette when I go to a wedding in about a week and a half!

OMG…this just sent me into panic mode.  I didn’t even think about a dress to wear to the shower.  I’m not exactly a dress type of person.  Could I wear dress capris or slacks and a nice blouse????

@flutterbymagik:  Definitely you can wear slacks and a nice blouse. There’s no rule that it has to be a dress 🙂

I’m full figured, but I’m not curvy (these terms are not synonymous). I bought a dress on clearance at Banana Republic. I think we paid just under $40 for it and it was originally somewhere around $140 or $150. I just fit their size 14. I did not want to wear white (saving that for the wedding day), but to each her own!
