Hello Bees just womdering your thoughts on this diamond for an upgrade? I was wanting an antique looking or chunky faceted diamond. The seller says this is a cushion brilliant and not a modified but to me it looks a bit like crushed ice eg modified? Is it possible its just the lighting or the angle the diamomd has been captured at? Any opinions or light shes would be greatly appreciated x

That’s the oddest cut cushion I’ve ever seen. There is SOME crushed ice in it but not enough? I don’t know…that one would bother me. I love the antique cuts and the chunky facets AND I love crushed ice but not this particular mix of them both. It makes the center look like a nail head or windowed in some way. What do you think?

That’s a very strange looking cushion. It’s not quite a modified, not quite a brilliant and not quite a cushion? I’m not even sure what’s going on in the center. It’s definitly not an antique or chunky facets which is what you want. I absolutely love antique cushions and have one myself in moissanite. Do you have any other options?

If you want an antique cut then stick with that. I agree with others, it’s kind of a strange cut. If that’s what you were looking for then I would say go for it but it will perform differently than antique cuts and I think you will end up disappointed in the long run. I don’t want to bombard the posts with pictures of my own ring but I have an August vintage cushion cut diamond and it is to die for. It’s an antique cut but using modern technology so the light performance is spectacular. Good old gold sells them. Good luck!

If you want a nice chunky cushion then look at good old gold and jewels by grace. This looks splintery to me.
Post your budget and what you want on pricescope forum too and you’ll get help finding a great performing diamond for your money.
