Hello Bees!
I am in the process of finding my perfect engagement ring ๐ I officially love cushion cuts, and am thinking between 1.5-2.5 carats. I have a 4.5 size finger. However, I don’t know much about the difference between modified/old mine/brilliant/etc. Would you please post your cushion cuts, along with carat and ring size as well as the specific cut? Thank you!

1.5 carat on size 6.25 finger. I believe it’s a modified brilliant square cushion.

mskinney : I have an old cut omc cushion. I’m 4.75 ring size. It’s 2.4ct centre.
As I often say on these threads, check out pricescope forum. They’ll help you pick a corker whatever cut you go for.
For me it was all about the chunky fat facets of the old cuts rather than the often more splintery icy cuts of the modern. It depends what catches your eye the best. Have you seen a few types of cushion in person to help narrowing your search?

rak32098 : I love the antique look of your ring! Is it platinum?

cbova : perfect size! I love that the halo gives it an almost oval-shape but you can still tell it’s a cushion.

stina1216 : this is the type of ring that made me love cushions in the first place! Classic but not round- love it!

UK-bee : I haven’t, but plan on attending a couple diamond shows in the next couple months to do just that! From what I can tell by looking at pictures, I think I also prefer the chunky facets. don’t think the crushed ice look is for me! You have a real beauty there!

I have a 4.25 – 4.5 finger size, depending on how warm it is. Here is mine, a 1.5 antique cushion, first as a solitaire and then as a halo. I hope this helps give you an idea of how it’ll look on your finger! ๐

lenapie : I am absolutely IN LOVE with your ring! It is stunning and 100% exactly what I want. Can you tell me where you got it from? And which stone you have? I don’t usually like halos, but the cushion cut with the very dainty halo is gorgeous.

ellalala :ย Thank you, ellalala! ๐ The stone is an August Vintage Cushion from Good Old Gold (it’s a J colour, for your reference, and melee stones are H). The setting is a custom from Joseph Jewelers, located in Seattle. The delicate halo is modeled after the Tacori 2620, because I liked that part of the Tacori, however I did not like the basket, so we decided to go the custom route. Hope that helps!
