I’m dying for a cushion cut, but I hear they’re more expensive than other cuts. So I doubt I’ll be getting one. But I love drooling over them : )

That ring is gorgeous Laughing

@RomanticAntics: I probably won’t get a ring… Thanks to college, Fiance is broke. We’ve been trying to save for a year for about a year now, and we haven’t been able to save a penny.

I saw a sapphire ring I really liked, with a halo, for $670, but even that’s pushing it. Fiance won’t be done with school until 5 months before the wedding, and won’t be making much money during his 3 month probationary period.

I feel like such the debbie downer 🙁

It would be great, if anybody were actually coming. I doubt we’ll even have 40 people at the wedding, and most of those will be FI’s family, and that also includes the wedding party.

I’ve really been wondering why I’m even trying to get married right now.

I’m sorry, I didn’t meant to hijack your thread with all of my wedding drama/blues.

I have a cushion cut 🙂

And I totally agree with @RomanticAntics – two things went into my (custom) ring design

1) I’ve always always always wanted my birthstone included in my engagement ring. It’s funny, I never was one to dream about weddings but I had my engagement ring fairly designed since I was a teenager. (It did change slightly from then to when I got it – namely the style of cut and I reversed the order of the stones)

2) There was ABSOLUTELY no way we could afford to do a diamond ring on our budget. And by going with a gemstone as the biggest stone it really saved us a lot of money, AND its freaking huge, the guy did a FANTASTIC job. I love how my e-ring is modern/unique with a nod to the traditional.

See?

I LOVE cushion cuts!!! I thought that was what I was going to get until I fell in love with a setting for an oval diamond. check out doverjewelry.com, they have cushion cut rings often. My favorite designer in particular is Henri Daussi…..if you havent seen his rings check them out! They are amazing!
