Hi everyone!
This is my first post but I’ve been looking at different threads for weeks ๐ love seeing everyone’s rings! I know I want a petite halo but I don’t know if I want a cushion or radiant shape. Moissanite is my desired stone mainly being of the sparkle effect and the size I can afford vs a diamond. I have been researching moissys but would love any tips or opinions from people that own them. Also I would LOVE to see pictures of your moissanites, especially cushion and/or radiants! Seeing them on a hand makes all the difference!

@Sassyscotty: I heard a lot of people check out moissaniteco… i’ve checked it out myself and they sell loose gemstones AND settings. most of their rings are beautiful
Moissanites are really strong. I’ve heard they have a 9.5 Maid/Matron of Honor scale which is close to a diamond!

I’m curious to see some on-hand pics as well! I’m not engaged yet, but SO and I have been looking at rings and I absolutely love the radiant shape! For me its between that and the cushion but I am def leaning towards radiant.
I have a moissanite necklace, and from the first time I saw it I knew I wanted to have it in my engagement ring. Traditional diamonds are nice, but I know we could never afford a diamond the carat size I would like with the clarity and shine that moissanite has.

Mine is a cushion moissanite from moco. The .85 carat center with halo and split shank on a 4.25 finger. I will be wearing 2 wedding bands in just a few weeks!!

@Lily827: that is EXACTLY how I feel! I love it for many reasons but it’s the perfect compromise for us, I love the stone and we don’t have to refinance the house for the size and clarity ๐ I kid, but the thing is they’re not as widely available to be seen in person (two jewelery stores have already snubbed their noses at us when we asked) so seeing them on people’s hands is the real life example I’ve been looking for! I also am leaning more toward radiant but wonder if that shape is as clear as a cushion. I read one bee said the rectangular shapes were the most yellow. I don’t know how for sure that is!
thanks for posting! Good to know I’m not alone here!:)

@otto2008: thank you so much for the advice! I will check that website out! I love being able to see the actual stone, hopefully that’s an option. The moissy’s 9.5 hardness is another HUGE reason I’m interested. It should stand the test of time!

@Lalk2bee:
Your ring is beautiful and I think the same one i’ve been looking at on moissaniteco.com! Do you by chance know what style number yours was?

@Sassyscotty: I almost fit the criteria! I have a double halo, 6.5mm cushion moissanite, but the halo’s are very delicate! (to me) it doesn’t look or feel gaudy, as some say a double halo does.
Here’s a photo for referance!

Radiant Moissy over here! I love it but sometimes it seems to have a “bowtie” effect so it looks more like a long princess cut. Mine is a 1.20ct 7x5mm fancy yellow in a catherdral setting setting. I like a high set stone because it can fit flush with almost any band.

The cushions are gorgeous and I eventually want to get one set in a halo as a RHR.
